The state of Georgia is reportedly considering a plan to get rid of conventional textbooks and shift middle school classrooms in the state to wireless iPads built by Apple, following positive iPad trials in place by schools around the US.

Yes, yes, yes. Next step, getting rid of all the private school principals who are terrified of all things digital. Step up or get out.

Hate to pop the tech bubble but they need to figure out how to not furlough teachers and keep schools open before making everything digital.

I’ve been seeing all sorts of posts about the recent Bill Maher show with Rachel Maddow all over my dashboard. During the show Bill argues for a law banning high capacity magazines (which has already been done and repealed) while talking about the tragedy in Tucson. His premise is that if they are illegal no one will be able to perpetuate something like that again. During the same show proves how effective that law would be. Bill goes on to assert that he has used pot about 50,000 times. Pot is an illegal material much like the hi cap magazines would be that Bill proposes to outlaw. Now if the law is powerless to stop Bill from buying dope, that is Bill breaks the law anyway, how does he think a law against these magazines will stop anyone motivated to obtain one.

I’m not saying what happened was not a tragedy, it certainly was, but it can be argued the law is ineffective at preventing these events. What is the cause of these types of events I don’t pretend to know. This seems to be a case of a disturbed person trying to get even for some perceived slight that occurred. Sorry if this was preachy. If you feel that it was please look at the post bellow.
